Discover the art of lapidary as you transform rough stone into smooth, polished cabochons. In this beginner workshop, students will learn how to cut, shape, sand, and polish their own gemstones using trim saws and professional cabbing machines. We’ll cover each stage of the process including trimming rough stone, shaping the dome, sanding through progressively finer grits, and polishing to a finished shine. All stones are provided by the studio, and each student will leave with three cut and polished cabochons ready to be turned into jewelry. No experience necessary.

Please pack a lunch, as we will take a 20 minute break and eat on the porch.

Create a one-of-a-kind sterling silver ring featuring a cabochon gemstone. Students will fabricate a ring band, build a bezel setting, solder components together, and properly set their stone. Design stamps will be provided too!

Includes: Sterling silver needed to complete one ring setting.
